The 1 ° International Festival of Ancient Music in the churches and palaces of Naples

For the first time, Naples will host the International Festival of Ancient Music, a prestigious international festival with many surprises and news!

Music, art, literature, cinema, theater and culture: these are the special ingredients of the 1 ° International Festival of Ancient Music.

"Soave is the wind. Naples in the European musical itineraries between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries" it is a prestigious review that began last year 22 November 2014 at the Gallerie d'Italia-Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano and ending the 14 February 2015.

The kermesse, by the Pietà de'Turchini Foundation  of Naples and financed by the Campania Region, provides eight weekends with more than 35 initiatives.

Concerts, screenings, debates, international study days, theatrical shows, thematic itineraries, spaces dedicated to children and much more, a complete mix that embraces the entire Neapolitan cultural landscape.

 

The main objective of the event is the promotion and dissemination of the ancient music of 600 and 700, golden seasons for Naples and its gulf considered the fulcrum of the main artistic stages of Europe and major pole of attraction for Italian and foreign tourists.

Therefore, it will be important to highlight the charm and the beauty of the luoghwhich will host the festival from time to time, such as Palazzo Zevallos Stigliano, the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena, the Church of San Rocco in Chiaia, the Maschio Angioino, the Villa Pignatelli Cortes Museum and the Niemeyer Auditorium of Ravello.

The program of initiatives, therefore, can only be rich and varied, for which the participants will also have the possibility to organize an individualized itinerary, studied ad hoc according to their own interests.
