Il Bello or il Vero in San Domenico Maggiore

In the heart of the historic center of Naples, inside the Complex of San Domenico Maggiore it will be possible to visit the exhibition The Beautiful or the True.  The Neapolitan Sculpture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.

This is not the usual display of statues and sculptures, but a unique exhibition that offers visitors a real journey immersed in the history of Neapolitan art and that uses the most advanced technologies of use. The 250 works exhibited from museums, galleries and private collections throughout Italy, in fact, they can not only be admired in their tangible sculptural beauty, but also explored through the new ones digital and interactive technologies that will amplify the ways of fruition.

Through a'free app for free visitors will be able to "dialogue" with the works e the sculptures themselves will tell their story when these approach the individual works, equipped with special sensors. Some sculptures will be reconstructed in 3D on interactive screens high resolution that the visitor can "rotate", move in three-dimensional space and discover every detail through touchless gestural commands.

Shepard Fairey #Obey at the Pan

Al Palace of the Arts of Naples is on the scene American street art with the exhibition of 60 works by its major exponent, Shepard Fairey. Known to the general public as #Obey, Fairey is the author of the election campaign that led Barack Obama to the presidency of the United States. The posters of him showing the four-color stylized face of the current president of the United States superimposed on the terms Hope (hope), Change(change) e Progress (progress) in 2008 they went around the world, becoming a true icon of both the "Obama character" and the style of Shepard Fairey. 

The exhibition at the Pan museum is first held in an Italian museum space, to tell the artist's stylistic evolution, including the series created for the city of Venice, Capitol hill, the monumental canvas, never before exhibited, which is flanked by works from private collections.

Ori, silver, gems and enamels of the Angevin Naples at the Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro

The most valuable treasures of the Naples Angioina from 1266 to 1381 will be on display, for the first time in a single collection, in the evocative setting of Museum of the Treasure of San Gennaro, in a single collection.

Visitors can admire the most important metal artifacts of the so-called "golden age" of the artistic, civil, political and cultural history of our city under the Anjou dynasty, when Naples became a real capital, one of the most populous cities in Europe and the vital center of artistic and literary production. In an immersion between jewels and luxury gold, coats of arms, decorations and Angoini seals.

Lucio Amelio at the Mother Museum

Il Museum of Contemporary Art of Naples dedicates an exhibition to the famous Neapolitan gallerist Lucio Amelio for the twenty years since his death. Lucio Amelio was one of the protagonists of the international contemporary art scene and in the exhibition entitled Lucio Amelio, from the modern art agency to the genesis of terrae motus (1965-1982). Documents, works, a story ..., his greatest merit will be told, that of having made Naples one of the most important centers of artistic production and reflection in recent decades on a national and international level.

Between works by Rauschenberg, Merz and Kounellis, Beuys, Andy Warhol, the protagonists of Arte Povera and the Italian Transavantgarde, up to the project Terrae Motus when Lucio Amelio called 50 artists to express their reactions to the devastating event of the 1980 Irpinia earthquake.

Vincenzo Gemito at the Museo di Capodimonte

The most famous Neapolitan sculptor will be the protagonist of the exhibition Vincenzo Gemito from the Minozzi drawing room to the Capodimonte Museum, where 90 his works will be exposed well. You will be able to admire bronze and terracotta sculptures, drawings and drafts of one of the greatest Neapolitan artists, sculptor but also excellent designer and goldsmith, but also the highly prized private collection consisting of 372 pieces, purchased last year from Mibac, of Achille Minozzi, Neapolitan entrepreneur, friend and great admirer of Gemito's works.
