Air strike June 8 in Naples: RyanAir, EasyJet and Volotea flights at risk

Ryanair

Tomorrow Wednesday 8 June 2022 there will be a major strike by the airline department that will affect the companies EasyJet, RyanAir e Volotea, basically low cost airlines. Naturally, Naples will also be involved with Capodichino Airport.

Because of the strike they will be at least 2000 flights at risk, flights that at least have been communicated by the airlines for which it is possible to consult them.

This agitation does not bode well for the summer because the low cost airlines have said ready and go on strike for several months if working conditions do not improve.

The strike times

The strike will last from 10.00 to 14.00 for the companies RyanAir, EasyJet and Volotea, while it will be from 13.00 to 17.00 for Alitalia-Sai land workers, which is in receivership, and of Italy Airways.

The reasons for the strike

At the basis of this complaint are the protests for the salary cuts of the flight crew and for the lack of water and food for the crews. The unions also complain "arbitrary reductions in the paycheck, the non-payment of sick days and the companies' refusal to grant days of compulsory leave".

That's why stewards, pilots and flight attendants have decided to go on strike and do it all summer, if necessary. For the moment they will block flights for a few hours tomorrow, but there situation could get worse soon if they will not be heard.

Are millions of Italians at risk of not flying this summer?

The risk looks serious and hundreds of thousands of flights could be at risk for the summer season. The unions have explained that on June 8 they will want to give a first signal.

In the last few days, in all Europe, They were about 175 flights a day canceled and according to an analysis by Corriere della Sera, about 1,6 million flights could be at risk for the whole summer.
