The Cumana resumes its "regular" circulation, with trains every 20 minutes from Montesanto to Torregaveta
From Saturday 14 June 2014 the Cumana train frequency will again be 20 minutes, as in the "regularity" of the circulation of this public transport which, in recent months, has created continuous inconvenience for commuters heading from Montesanto to Pozzuoli, Bagnoli and Torregaveta and vice versa. Very often, in fact, there have been suspensions and blockades of traffic due to lack of trains, delays, strikes and protests by EAV drivers, the company that manages the Cumana and Circumvesuviana.
Yesterday morning a meeting was held between the Phlegraean council group leaders with the mayors and the sole administrator Eav, Nello Polese, in which it was established that from Saturday 14 June 2014 the Cumana train service, from Montesanto to Torregaveta, will be regular again throughout the day with runs every 20 minutes.
For the moment, from the beginning of the service until the 11 hours, the route Torregaveta-Fuorigrotta and vice versa will still be replaced by bus. Instead, as of July 2014 they will no longer be there service interruptions from 5 to 11 on the Torregaveta-Bagnoli section, thanks to the inclusion of a new train that will be in operation from Saturday, and a third refurbished convoy that will be in operation from the second week of July. In this way the circulation of the entire section will be restored.
The new measures mainly concern the summertime, when, in the days of greater tourist-bathing, some races will be performed in double composition to offer users a greater transport offer. A mode of circulation that will be repeated even in the autumn and winter season, when the school and work activities are resumed.
The issue was also addressed during the meeting safety: "The representatives of the Municipalities of Pozzuoli, Bacoli and Monte di Procida will ask the Prefect, during the next meeting of the Committee for Public Order and Safety, that a safety device is provided against acts of vandalism and to guarantee the correct use of the service by users ".
In short, we just have to wait for the next weekend to verify that the new decisions and the new provisions on the circulation of Cumana are respected.
