The free concert by Franco Battiato in Naples will be held in Piazza del Plebiscito to open the Napoli Teatro Festival 2017!
The show, which will be called Light of the South, will see other artists on the stage, with Battiato, who, through some readings, will underline the link between music and theater, One of the fils rouge of the tenth edition of the event.
Battiato will rise on stage with theElectric Band and the strings of the Symphony Orchestra, telling his spiritual quest through the historical classics of his production up to the latest mystical works. It will be a journey around the nature of being.
Throughout the evening they will also come projected shots by Antonio Biasiucci, an important photographer from Caserta, who immediately moved to Naples, where during his career he dedicated himself to urban suburbs and to research on individual memory. Over the years it has also focused on the South culture and on the fundamental elements of our existence.
The musical pearls of Franco Battiato, instead, will alternate with readings of songs interpreted by Mimmo Borrelli, Fabrizio Gifuni and Imma Villa. They will be extrapolated from works by Giordano Bruno, Giambattista Vico and Wystan Hugh Auden and will mainly deal with the Mediterranean.
