The Contemporary Impressionism of Giovanni Manzo at the Pan in Naples

The Contemporary Impressionism exhibition by the artist Giovanni Manzo explores the great metropolises with a particular look at Naples

The personal exhibition of the Neapolitan artist Giovanni Manzo with the title will be exhibited at the Pan di Napoli Contemporary Impressionism.

Inaugurated on October 21, it will be open to visitors until November 20 2014 in the Upper Rooms on the second floor of the Palazzo delle Arti in Naples and will contain a series of works of different sizes and workings of the Neapolitan painter.

Giovanni Manzo's main objective is the exploration of metropolitan fabrics through research and artistic experimentation. During his work he focused on numerous international metropolises, posing special attention to his hometown, Naples.

In his oils on canvas he describes above all buildings, streets and alleys to arrive at a new and original representation of the studied cities.
As for Naples, it focuses particularly on evocative alleys of the historical center, revisiting them through an artistic revolution that aims to show the image of a modern and contemporary city.

The Neapolitan artist Giovanni Manzo

As opposed to the traditional image with which it is known Naples in the world thanks to the quiet of the gulf, the grandeur of Vesuvius and the grandeur of its sea, Manzoni's paintings highlight the tangle of cars, scooters, taxis that form the daily traffic in which we are immersed.

In this way, he wants to bring out the image of one great metropolis projected to the future that, at first glance, can be compared and confused with the big and chaotic New York.

As the artist's own words best explain:

My paintings, seen up close, are reminiscent of an informal, abstract style, but the more the observer moves away and the better he identifies the image, real and perfect in size; and this is nothing more than impressionism, revisited in a modern key, through my painting technique "
