The Italian Kendo Championship will take place in Naples in December

Naples will host the Italian Kendo Championship for the first time in which hundreds of athletes from all over Italy will participate

For the first time Naples will host the Italian Kendo Championship, the ancient martial art of the Japanese samurai, and will do so in the Soccavo neighborhood. In fact, on 1 December the Polyfunctional of Viale Adriano will be the venue for this important national event.

The competitions were organized by the Italian Kendo Federation (FIK) with the help of the Neapolitan sports association Samurai Academy. 100 Italian athletes who will compete in this delicate discipline that blends the art of fighting with the katana sword and Zen philosophy.

Hundreds of technicians and managers will arrive with them from various parts of Italy and the participation of numerous spectators coming not only from Campania, but also from the rest of the country.
The competitions will start, therefore, Sunday 1 December at 10 with an Opening Ceremony that also includes the individual men's competition. This will be followed by the women's competition.

The Multifunctional has long been trying to become meeting place and socialization especially to try to redevelop the area and offer a meeting center for young people. In fact, for some months now, just in that structure, it has opened the “palexstra” of the Olympic champion Diego Occhiuzzi, a project born with the aim of bringing young people closer to sporting life.
