The Royal Palace of Carditello: a historic and fascinating location

At first hunting reserve of Charles of Bourbon and horse breeding, the Reggia di Carditello was transformed in 1787 in a farm model by will of Ferdinando IV of Bourbon. The estate was destined to wheat cultivation and the breeding of valuable horse and cattle breeds, maintaining the title of "Royal Delight” and continuing to host the royal court during hunting trips.

After years of neglect and vandalism, the Palace of Carditello was recovered and has become one of the liveliest cultural centers in Campania. In addition to the institutional events,, the Bourbon site can be visited even without participating in the scheduled initiatives. Of particular interest are the apartments and and the environments monumental, the boschi and the riding track, where the Persian horse, a breed introduced by King Charles of Bourbon, is the protagonist.
