The 2016 edition of the Maggio dei Monumenti will be dedicated to Charles of Bourbon, who would have turned 300 years old!
Il May of the 2016 Monuments in Naples will be entirely dedicated to King Charles of Bourbon, which would have accomplished 300 years.
To celebrate the birthday of the Bourbon King, of which in recent years we speak in greater detail thanks to the associations in the city who want to make known the history of the family of monarchs who reigned over Naples, will be organized many initiatives which will mainly involve the institutions.
The decision was taken by the Councilorship of the Municipality of Naples in agreement with the mayor Luigi De Magistris and for some weeks we have been actively working to develop a detailed and relevant program.
The gifts have, in fact, already begun and the first to go in this direction was the Palace of Caserta. Indeed, one gigantography of Charles of Bourbon it was affixed to the scaffolding of the facade currently under restoration, alongside the words "builder of kingdoms, palaces and cities".
Il Teatro San Carloinstead, it will be the second to pay him a tribute, with one extraordinary guided tour that the 20 January will take place at 17.30, which can be booked on the official website. The theater, in fact, inaugurated in the 1737 on the occasion of his name-day, on November 4th, bears the name of the King and, under the arch of the proscenium, the coat of arms of the Two Sicilies is still present.
The celebrations inside will continue throughout the year and will end on November 4th.
