Il Palazzo

The Diomede Carafa palace dates back to the fifteenth century and is located in the heart of the historic center, near Spaccanapoli.

His restoration, which took place in the 1466, as indicated on the epigraph affixed to the building, was made to create a private museum that housed the antiquities come to light in the city.

The Palace will then become the property of the Carafa of Columbrano that restored it again and, in the 1815, it was bought by the Santangelo who dedicated themselves to further enrich the museum.

The Palace is recognizable outside by yellow and gray bugs that cover it. The door presents the crests of the Carafa family.
