Phase 3 of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine development successfully completed: efficacy is 95% and there are no serious side effects!
Good news continues to arrive on the vaccine Pfizer and Biontech are working on because the results of the 3 phase, recently ended, show that it is very well tolerated by the study population.
In fact, out of 43000 test participants, it was not registered no serious side effects, while the effects that have occurred were only headache in 2% of cases e fatigue in 3.8% of cases.
The SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, therefore, turns out even 95% effective and it gives us much hope in the fight against this terrible pandemic.
The American pharmaceutical giant has announced that the vaccine prevented both severe and mild forms of Covid-19 and, in the elderly, it is 94% effective. An excellent result considering that the elderly they are the subjects who are most at risk of contracting severe forms of the disease.
For these reasons, Pfizer and Biontech await theemergency authorization from the Food and Drug Administration, which should arrive in a few days to allow for distribution.
