The Carta Bianca exhibition takes place at the Capodimonte Museum in Naples in which ten curators, chosen from among cultural personalities, will set up their own room.

The exhibition Carta Bianca - Capodimonte Imaginaire takes place from 12 December 2017 to 18nd June 9 December 2018 at Museum of Capodimonte in Naples.

White card wants celebrate the contemporary museum which represents a complex space where memory and history are organized and above all wants to free the idea of ​​a "single-voice" museum, favoring its multiple elaborations, ideas and works of art. To do this the Museum of Capodimonte has launched a challenge to ten curators to each of which was assigned a room of the museum and who had "carte blanche" to choose from one to ten works among them 47mila of the Capodimonte collection (paintings, sculptures and artifacts).

Interactive exhibition

The exhibition aims to be interactive not only through the app and hashtags (#CartaBianca and #MbcCartaBianca) but also by making the public "the eleventh curator": every visitor, in fact, can propose his own room, photographing ten works of the Museum and participating in the contest #LamiaCartaBianca on the museum's social networks. There best selection of works, according to a jury composed of the 10 authors of Carta Bianca and chaired by the director Sylvain Bellenger, it will be set up in a real hall of the museum.

The 10 curators chosen among the most famous personalities from the world of culture for the exhibition are:

  • Giuliana Bruno, professor of Visual and Environmental Studies, Harvard University
  • Gianfranco D'Amato, industrialist and collector
  • Marc Fumaroli, historian and essayist, member of the Académie française
  • Riccardo Muti, conductor
  • Mariella Pandolfi, professor of Anthropology, Université de Montréal
  • Giulio Paolini, artist
  • Paolo Pejrone, architect and landscape architect
  • Vittorio Sgarbi, art critic and collector, writer, teacher
  • Francesco Vezzoli, artist
