In the night between the 21 and the 22 October 2017 a spectacular astronomical phenomenon will occur, the passage of the shooting stars Orionids. These are fragments of the Halley's comet, one of the brightest comets with periodic orbit.

The event will be visible also from Naples: below are the best places to observe it. To enjoy it in the best way it will be necessary to address it look eastward, north of the star Betelgeuse in the Constellation of Orion, on the borders of the Constellation of Gemini.

How to best moment for observation the experts indicate midnight. Around this time, in fact, the meteoric peak will occur, with about 30 trails per hour.

Piazzale di San Martino

Among the most romantic places in the city, the square of San Martino is a great place to observe the stars thanks to his elevated position, in a quiet area. Vesuvio

Away from the lights and noises of cities, the volcano is an oasis of peace and can now be visited with the Gran Cono path. The route is the only one currently accessible after the terrible fires that devastated Vesuvius last July.
