The state archives of Naples can be visited during the 2017 paper Sunday

The appointment with the 2017 Carta Sunday in Napol which provides for the free extraordinary opening of state libraries and archives.

The 8 October 2017 the appointment with the Sunday of paper in Naples, promoted by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, for the enhancement of "paper monuments"public state libraries and state archives, often unknown to the public.

To the initiative, which coincides with the National Day of Families at the Museum, places from all over Italy will participate, and for Naples they will be made accessible for free la National Library, the University Library and the State Archives of Naples. Here is the program.

The National Library

The National Library will propose guided tours in the splendid rooms on the second floor of the Royal Palace which they will include the Palatine Library, the rooms of Queen Maria Teresa, the rooms decorated in Pompeii style by Salvatore Giusti and the study of Ferdinando II Bourbon whose ceiling was painted by Camillo Guerra with the stories of Charles of Anjou. It will also be possible to visit the so-called Sala D'Africa which preserves valuable artifacts and collections of African objects.

There will be manuscript exhibits, relics, photos and documents in the visit to the section of music and theater Lucchesi Palli which preserves the original nineteenth-century furnishings. And finally there will be the possibility to visit the areas destined toHolidays from the Bourbon royals: the great Salone di Lettura and the rooms of the Neapolitan section.

For the first time a route that goes from sofficial wings of the Etiquette Apartment ancient rooms privatand, today it is the seat of the National Library and the evocative path that winds through the neoclassical vestibule, used by the Bourbons since the days of Ferdinando II, will also be reopened.

The University Library

The University Library proposes an exhibition entitled Vanvitelli a Corte which will start from the figure of the architect to make known and highlight the work and genius of the artists, scientists, economists and Neapolitan cartographers who have contributed to make Naples, since 700, the third capital of Europe.

State Archives

It will also be inaugurated documentary exhibition dedicated to Carlo Poerio, entitled "Carlo Poerio and Europe", at the State Archives.
