Torre Annunziata in the orange area: bars, restaurants and schools closed

Infections in Torre Annunziata are increasing in a worrying way and the orange zone has been declared.

Torre Annunziata has been declared orange zone by its mayor Vincenzo Ascione due to the surge in infections that hit the town for a few days.

Although Campania is in the yellow zone, Torre Annunziata, with 41 thousand inhabitants, enters the orange zone from Monday 1 February 2021 because of speed with which the Coronavirus is spreading and the mayor has ordered the closure of bars, restaurants and schools.

The prohibitions in Torre Annunziata

THEorder of the mayor provides as follows from 1 to 8 February:

  • closure of schools of all levels, both public and private and of the educational services of the kindergarten (0-6 years). Face-to-face teaching is allowed only if it is necessary to use workshops or to allow for the school inclusion of pupils with disabilities and special educational needs
  • bars, restaurants, restaurants, ice cream parlors and pastry shops are closed. Takeaway is allowed with a ban on consumption on site or nearby and home delivery is allowed until 22.00 pm. Canteens and continuous catering on a contractual basis are excluded
  • the weekly market on Friday is suspended in the spaces of the municipal stadium “A. Giraud ”, excluding food sales

The situation of the infections

According to what was declared by the mayor Ascione, the contagion situation is very worrying and all citizens must be very careful.

Unfortunately, the surge is alarming, according to what was also found by the Regional Crisis Unit and as also reported by the President of the Region Vincenzo De Luca, but it is it is important to behave correctly and comply with all safety measures to limit and reduce infections.
