Caposele hosts "A Tree for all" for Christmas 2017 with markets, events and the lighting ceremony of the tallest tree in Europe.
From the 8 to 10 December 2017 will take place in Caposele, in the province of Avellino the event "A Tree for everyone". Now in its sixth edition, the ceremony of turning on the lights of the tree has become a real tradition or rather, a symbol.
In the urban center of the country that is located at the foot of the Sanctuary of S. Gerardo Maiella, stands this fir tree 33 meters, the highest in Europe in fact. The tree has a very deep meaning, it represents the memory of those who left this land and at the same time the hope and the will of those who fight against devastating diseases.
Each small light of the tree represents the strength to face difficulties and the hope of the arrival of the true light on earth. A ceremony full of meaning and for this reason deeply felt by those who organize it and those who participate, an opportunity to pray and reflect. All proceeds collected during the activities will be donated to charity for cancer research and prevention.
Christmas markets
The Christmas markets will start on December 8th at 16pm and continue until December 00th at 10pm. Approximately 50 stand with handicrafts, food and wine products and excellences of the Irpinia tradition. There will be exhibitions with many artists for three days full of reflection but also art, music and shows, laboratory of Santa Claus for the little ones to write and mail the letter. Guided tours are also provided sources of the Sele, the museums, the basilicas of S Gerardo Maiella and S. Lorenzo and the crib exhibitions. Lots of activities for adults and children to immerse themselves in the Christmas atmosphere and spirit.
