The facilities that will host the upcoming 2019 Universiade in Naples and the side events at the sports event.

Naples and Campania have been chosen as the place to celebrate theawaited 2019 Universiade. For the city it is a big one opportunity to relaunch both from a sporting and a touristic point of view. With this great event, you will take the opportunity to make improvement work on sports facilities that will host the various events.

This is a very important sporting event where thousands of athletes will compete in numerous sports including basketball, athleticstennis fencing, football and gymnastics. The disciplines in total will be 14.

The offices

The locations chosen for the activities are structures already known and perfectly capable of welcome athletes and their performances. For football, certainly the welcome of the Stadio San Paolo, official stadium of the Neapolitan football team, while for swimming will be made available to various pools very organized as the Scandone, the swimming pool of the Mostra d'Oltremare and the Swimming Stadium in Caserta. At Vomero, the Stadio Stadio will host volleyball, basketball and tennis events. Great space has also been given to the structure par excellence that houses young students, the Cus Naples.

Events

In addition to purely sports games, there will also be many events around the event such as concerts, theatrical performances, mapping art and much more.

Inauguration Ceremony and Awards

The opening and closing ceremonies of the games will take place at the Stadio San Paolo and the Mostra d'Oltremare. There are several places where they can take place the awards: Piazza del Plebiscito, the San Carlo Gallery of Naples, Pompeii, the Reggi of Caserta, Paestum.

Side Events

In the complex of the Mostra d'Oltremare, in particular in the large one Arena Flegrea, To Fountain of the Esedra and Golden Cube, there will be many collateral events at the Games. Great importance will be given to the city of Naples as a cosmopolitan area and will focus on the revised Neapolitan theater, as the backbone of entertainment that will be tailored to audiences from all over the world.

There will be masterpieces of classical prose revisited and interpreted in a modern key with the choreography of Cirque du Soleil. Two evenings will be dedicated to great music of international DJs with the presence of Steve Aoki and David Guetta. Another evening, however, will be dedicated to music and the figure of the great Neapolitan singer-songwriter Pino Daniele. The Fountain will be the protagonist of fantastic water and light games. Finally, the Cubo d'Oro will host some evenings with the video-mapping art technique, which will see artists at work, creators of high-impact visual effects.

The program promises to be rich and as soon as it will be published in detail, we will communicate it.

Hospitality

The athletes and delegations will be staying at the Cittadella dei giovani in Bagnoli, in the former NATO area. FISU members and delegates and institutional offices will stay at the Hotel Palazzo Esedra, in the Mostra d'Oltremare complex. The referees will be hosted in high-level hotels in the historic center of Naples. All journeys will take place with vehicles powered by electricity or with cars and buses that use low environmental impact fuel.
