On Wednesday 24 July 2019 the Arena Flegrea will host a great concert featuring the Afro Cuban All Stars , a super band directed by maestro Juan de Marcos Gonzales , who is among the most active producers and musicians of the vibrant Cuban scene as well as founder of the historic Buena Vista Social Club experience . The concert is part of the Noisy Naples Fest.
The Afro Cuban All Stars is a unique orchestra that spans generations and styles. Extraordinary musical personalities have emerged from its ranks over the years, such as Ruben Gonzalez , Ibrahim Ferrer , Guillermo Rubalcava, Amadito Valdes, and Manuel “The Guajiro” Mirabal.
"A Toda Cuba Le Gusta" ("All Cuba Likes It") was the band's debut album. It was the first of a sumptuous trilogy of extraordinary works recorded by World Circuit in a single two-week session at Egrem Studios in Havana. The other two were titled "Buena Vista Social Club" and "Introducing Ruben Gonzalez," and that's no small feat.
In September 2018, this piece of contemporary music history was reissued: the orchestra set off on its world tour once again, bringing the live energy of those legendary sessions to everyone. The band, composed of 14 musicians , performs a repertoire rooted in great Cuban music: from the classic son and danzón to the rhythms of contemporary dance.
We remind you that discounts of up to 50% are available for Federico II students.
