Video projections, acrobats, giant puppets and wheels of fire for the most anticipated show of the Napoli Teatro Festival 2015 at the Mostra d'Oltremare
In a few days Mostra d'Oltremare will be the evocative location of one of the most anticipated shows of the Naples Theater Festival 2015!
Saturday June at 13 22: 30 the Catalan company La Fura dels Baus will bring to our city one of his most spectacular and engaging performances, characterized by multidisciplinarity and a technological and visionary scenographic apparatus.
Afrodita and el juicio de Paris (Aphrodite and the judgment of Paris) will tell through the language of theater, music, circus, dance, cinema and even advertising, one of the best known mythological tales of the Greek era, that of the "apple of discord".
Through video projections, acrobats, giant puppets, and wheels of fire, it will be told the legend of the marriage of Teti and Peleo, to which Eris, goddess of discord, was the only one who was not invited. To take revenge, the goddess comes to the party by throwing a golden apple with the phrase engraved on the banquet table "At the most beautiful". The three goddesses Hera, Aphrodite and Athena will begin to quarrel to obtain the "merit" and it will be Paris, appointed by Zeus, to act as judge. In order to ingratiate themselves with the judgment, the three goddesses promise various rewards: Athena the victory in war, she Was the sovereignty over Asia, Aphrodite the love of Elena, the most beautiful woman on earth. Paris chooses to love Elena and to give the apple to Aphrodite. This episode will represent the premise of the Trojan War.
The real protagonist of this show, which in an extraordinary way mixes natural and industrial materials, new technologies, images, videos and staging, will be the public, which will be at the center of a collective creation where actors and spectators will be one and only entity.
