The life and career of Ivano Marescotti
Ivano Marescotti was born in Villanova di Bagnocavallo, in the province of Ravenna, on February 4, 1946. After working for many years as a municipal employee, decided to pursue an acting career at about 40 years almost by accident.
Choice that led him to work with some of the most important directors of Italian and international cinema.
Among his most memorable characters is Dr. Randazzo in Johnny Toothpick by Roberto Benigni, the Northern League father of Checco Zalone in I fall from the clouds and Alex's dad in Jack Frusciante left the group by Enza Negroni. He has also worked in productions partners. such as Anthony Minghella's The Talented Mr Ripley, Hannibal by Ridley Scott and Antoine Fuqua's King Arthur.
But Marescotti was not only a very talented actor: he dedicated most of his life also to the training of young actors, teaching acting in his TAM school based in Ravenna.

Last year, Marescotti announced his decision to withdraw from the scene to devote himself completely to his theater school.
Following the example of Jack Nicholson who retired from the stage at the age of 73 (one must have a model…) to enjoy old age, I announce that I am retiring from the stage and I am no longer an actor. I thank my agent in Rome, Maria Vittoria Grimaudo, the critical journalists who have always treated me undeservedly well, all the producers and directors as well as the many fellow actors and actresses with whom I have had the pleasure and honor of working. I just keep TAM school with 15-20 students every year I teach acting
