I Campi Flegrei they return to be the protagonists of great events and this summer there will be many shows, concerts and other events not to be missed thanks to Antro Festival which will take place in different locations of the Phlegraean Fields Archaeological Park.
The first of these appointments is with Ascanio Celestini that, Friday 26 August 2022 will exhibit in the Archaeological Museum of the Phlegraean Fields in Castle of Baia with the show "Jokes".
His clever irony and his insight will keep us company for a special and fun evening. The show starts from the homonymous book by Ascanio Celestini and will be accompanied by musicians who will perform music by Gianluca Casadei.
The power of jokes
Ascanio Celestini's show will be a journey into the history of jokes, a way to know the world we live in, for take it apart and rebuild it according to a different perspective that allows us to understand it better.
The joke fishes in the murky and unconscious, but they are also a way, typical of every culture, to tell and tell others.
Although they seem distant from each other, the origins of some jokes, coming from different countries, actually tell us a common root. A joke freckle which narrates the quarrel between two neighbors refers us to one Czechoslovakian story similar relating to the Russian invasion of '68, as well as the stories about police Italians, in France become jokes about Belgian counterparts.
The jokes also target commonplaces or those that are considered characteristic traits of a people or a culture: those who have never heard stories about stingy of the Scots and Genoese, but also of the Jews, on the fear for African Americans or for Gypsies? The latter could lead to racism but, as Celestini will make us understand, they actually hide a message of solidarity and compassion.
