Discover the Bay of Ieranto at night: a guided tour on the trail of myths related to constellations.

Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July, Friday 2 and Saturday 3 August and Friday 30 August 2019 il You do, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, invites everyone to become astronomers for one night.

In fact, on the dates mentioned above, it will take place "Astronomers for one night”, Cycle of guided tours departing from the small square of Nerano.

Each visit will touch the Montalto tower and the area of ​​the former Italsider quarry with its small settlement of industrial archeology.

During the excursions it will deepen the history of the bay, thus linked to the theme of astronomy and the myths that take their name from the constellations.

For example, we will talk about the passion of the emperor Tiberio (14-37 AD) for the observation of the celestial vault from his retreat of Villa Jovis on the island of Capri.

With the help of the dark we will scan the sky to see the constellations visible in this season pass over our heads: the Swan, the Lyre, the Eagle, Cassiopeia, Perseus, Cepheus, Andromeda, Pegasus.

Finally, a look at our galaxy, the Milky Way, and to the problem of light pollution.

We recommend bringing a packed breakfast, sneakers, water, a hat, a camera, a bathing suit and sunscreen.
