From Friday 22nd to Monday 25th April 2022 at the Mostra d'Oltremare in Naples the appointment with the Comicon, or the International Comics Show.
There are many activities designed for this new edition, and among these there will also be the beautiful Star Wars themed parade.
It will be a special appointment to Saturday 23 April at 13:00, because for the first time there will be 501st Italian Garrison. In short, an unmissable event for all fans of the famous TV series who just can't miss it.
The 501st International Legion
The 501st International Legion was founded twenty-five years ago, in 1997 in the United States of America and is the largest organization of Imperial Star Wars costumes.
To date the members who are part of it are more than 10.000, from all over the world and divided into Garrison, or national garrisons.
The 501st Legion is the only Imperial costuming group to be officially recognized by LucasFilm Limited.
The 501st Italica Garrison
The 501st Italica Garrison was born in 2001, on the occasion of one of the events dedicated to comics or Romics.
Today the group boasts approx 150 components, who take part in many events, comics fairs, science fiction and cinema conventions, events for the promotion of films, cartoons and much more.
One of the purposes of the Legion is to raise funds for the beneficence, walking hand in hand with the Italian Red Cross, UNICEF, AMREF, Pediatric Hospitals of Padua, Pavia and Varese, Bambin Gesù in Rome, Telethon and other realities.
Rebel Legion Italian Base
La Rebel Legion was founded in 2000 as opposed to the 501st International Legion. It is an international Star Wars costuming organization, which was created to replicate costumes belonging to the Star Wars world of rebelsThese are:
- Jedi
- Riders
- Rebel troops
- Princesses
- Wookiees
For the fidelity and care with which the costumes are recreated, the Rebel Legion has been officially recognized by LucasFilm as the world's leading costuming association for Star Wars rebels.
The Italy section, the Rebel Legion Italian Base, was born in 2005 and since then has taken part in the most important trade fairs.
The Dark Side of Naples
The group will also take part in the parade on 23 April at the Mostra d'Oltremare The Dark Side of Naples. The group was born as an idea on a Facebook group, and then materialized during the Napoli Comicon in 2015. The idea behind it was to bring together all those fans of cosplay with a Star Wars theme.
To date, the group is a point of reference in Southern Italy for all fans of the saga.
