The National Archaeological Museum of Naples offers citizens the digital preview of the beautiful exhibition on Gladiators!
The MANN, the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, will inaugurate a beautiful one on March 8, 2021 exhibition on Gladiators, but in January there is adigital preview.
The great exhibition will be hosted in the beautiful Hall of the Sundial of the Museum and will contain approx 160 extraordinary finds including the MANN's exceptional collection of 50 weapons, as well as reliefs and funerary steles from Rome, Avenches, Augusta Raurica.
The exhibition, organized thanks to the collaboration between the Antikenmuseum of Basel, the Archaeological Park of the Colosseum and with the contribution of Intesa Sanpaolo and curated by Valeria Sampaolo, pending the inauguration and therefore the reopening of the Museums, will be presented in a small part through a special digital preview.

By connecting to the social pages of the Museum, Facebook ed Instagram, you can make a virtual journey in the special exhibition dedicated to Gladiator and admire some of the beautiful pieces that are part of the collection.
There will be six sections of the exhibition:
- From the funeral of the heroes to the duel for the dead
- The gladiators and their weapons
- From mythical hunting to venationes
- Life as a Gladiator
- The amphitheaters of Campania
- The Gladiators in the house and on the walls
Interesting publications will then be published post on the sections of the exhibition and you can admire some objects such as: the terracotta vase dating from 340-320 BC, the sword with scabbard of the first century. AD found in Pompeii, a helmet of mirmillone from the first half of the XNUMXst century AD, C. and many others.
