Bacoli opens free passages to the beaches: the initiative of the mayor Della Ragione

The mayor of Bacoli, Josi Gerardo Della Ragione, announced via Facebook the launch of an important initiative to restore free access to the beaches of the municipality. This is an intervention that concerns places such as Roman Beach, Torregaveta e Cuma, areas where access to the sea had long been limited by bathing establishments and private individuals. This project represents a significant step towards the restoration of the community rights, with the opening of new free access points that will allow citizens to use the beaches all year round, ensuring compliance with the law.

Free access to beaches: a common good

Access to the beaches of Bacoli, which has long been limited by the presence of private establishments, has been a topic of discussion within the community. Until now, in many areas of the coast, swimmers have found themselves having to cross private areas or have been prevented from simply walking along the shoreline. In some cases, physical barriers and the presence of bodyguards have even prevented them from walking in the water during private events.

The mayor's initiative aims to eliminate these restrictions through the creation of new free passages which will allow access to the beaches from multiple points along the coast. This intervention will involve not only the most critical areas such as Roman Beach, but it will also extend to more peripheral areas such as Casevecchie e Miseno.

The project aims to ensure that the sea is accessible to all, not only in the summer months but also in the winter, with interventions that protect public usability in every season.

The balance between private and public law

Mayor Della Ragione clarified that the initiative is not against the private dealers that operate in compliance with the rules. The bathing establishments represent an important economic resource for Bacoli, offering work and services to citizens and tourists. However, the project aims to combat those abuses that, over the years, have transformed state-owned areas into de facto private spaces, accessible only for a fee or during private events.

The aim of the administration is to protect the public Law to the sea, balancing the economic needs of the concessionaires with the collective rights of the community. It is not a question of eliminating economic activities on the coast, but of ensuring that everyone can enjoy a common good without restrictions or abusive limitations.

Coastal development: a potential still untapped

Il Bacoli coast represents one of the most important natural and tourist resources of the territory, but for too long it has been abandoned and limited by physical barriers and privatizations. With the opening of free passages, the municipal administration intends to enhance the potential of the coast, making it an attraction not only for local citizens but also for tourists.

The operation is not limited to the opening of the gates, but includes a series of interventions aimed at improving the accessibility and usability of the sea:

  • Installation of signs to report public access.
  • Creating scenic routes free from visual obstacles.
  • Enhancement of natural and landscape areas.

The administration is aware that the recovery of the coast represents a unique opportunity for the tourism development and the economic revival of the area. Returning the sea to the citizens also means attracting new visitors, increasing growth opportunities for the entire territory.
