As mentioned a few months ago by the president Vincenzo De Luca, in Campania he arrives basic psychologist, who will work alongside general practitioners and pediatricians in the health districts.
Furthermore, the regional regulation regarding the establishment of the Basic Psychology Service, a service that aims to reduce the ever-increasing number of psychological disorders in the population and which therefore provides valid support to all those who feel the need.
We remember that Campania is the first region in Italy to ensure the basic psychologist, with a conventional relationship within each ASL at the level of the basic health districts.
The rules
The regulation that was published on the official website of the Campania Region consists of several points, here are some:
- the establishment of a list of basic psychologists at each Local Health Authority of the Campania Regional Health Service;
- the specifications skills basic psychologists;
- i titles preferential;
- the procedures forregistration in the lists;
- the establishment of a Regional Observatory, with functions of direction, planning and control of the activities provided by the basic psychologist, also in relation to the preparation of the programs of the training activities related to basic psychology services.
The requirements to be a basic psychologist
To be able to practice the profession of basic psychologist it will be necessary:
- Be in possession of the Degree Diploma o Master's Degree in Psychology (Class LM-51 - ex DM 270/2004) o Master's Degree in Psychology (Class 58 / S - ex DM 509/1999);
- Be enrolled inRegister of psychologists;
- Not to be a permanent employee in the structures of the National or Regional Health Service;
- Be in possession of specific skills and qualifications;
- Having a certificate of qualification issued by the Campania Region following the attendance and passing of the final exam of a specific six-month course regulated by the Regional Council on the subject of the basic psychologist and primary care.
The required qualifications
According to the function to be performed in the various areas, the basic psychologist will have to have some post-graduate qualifications, such as:
- Postgraduate School Diploma in Psychological Area;
- Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy recognized by the Ministry of University and Research;
- Research doctorates in the psychological field;
- First and second level university masters in psychological area.

- Health Psychology;
- Pediatric Psychology;
- Psycho-oncology;
- Social and applied psychology;
- Psychosomatic;
- Evolutionary psychopathology;
- Adult psychopathology;
- Psychotraumatology;
- Medical psychology;
- Perinatal health psychology and users and management of critical issues
