The servant
Pierpaolo Sepe and Andrea Renzi at the Teatro Mercadante an installation based on the short novel by Robin Maugham of the 1948. The servant is one black comedy which tells of a dark reversal of roles in the classic relationship between servant and master, thanks to ambiguous psychological games developed by the servant. The perversion "network" soon also involves other characters in the story.

Masquerade
The director Rimas Tuminas brings the show on stage Masquerade (in Russian with Italian surtitles), a masterpiece of Russian literature that is based on the drama in verses of one of the best romantic poets of the nineteenth century Mikhail Lermontov. The work he targets the nineteenth-century St. Petersburg society telling about scandals, intrigues, political and gambling games, focusing on the rebellious character and noble spirit of the protagonist Eugène Arbénine, compared to the Othello of Shakespeare.

Friedrich Schiller wrote this work for only 24 years, based on the difference between social classes, nobility and poor bourgeoisie, on the conflict between tyrannical power and the right to happiness of the human being, through the story of a deep and impossible bond, of a passion indomitable, of intrigue and jealousy. This intense melodrama inspired Giuseppe Verdi for his Luisa Miller. Directed by Marco Sciaccaluga.

Deadly desires

The tightrope walkers
In the 1930 a small village on the Sicilian sea is about to be upset by an earthquake. But, first, it will be another event to disturb the quiet of this place: the arrival of the tightrope walkers. The Sicilian "cunto" is told by a man and a woman, while she embroiders the iron and he shines it with sea water. Freely adapted from the novel "Maruzza Musumeci" of Andrea Camilleri and directed by Rosario Sparno.

Glacial tango
Mario Martone realizes his show of the 1982 that revolutionized the concept of theatrical space exploding, literally, in the alleys of Naples well 35 years ago. Glacial Tango it is a “domestic adventure” which “tells of the crossing of a house by its three inhabitants; from the living room to the kitchen, from the roof to the garden, from the swimming pool to the bathroom ". The show yes plays in twelve environments for twelve different sets thanks to a sophisticated system of light architectures and the assembly of films and slides. But in the 1982 the show came out of the walls of the New Theater and spread among the alleys of the city, between the applause and the emotion of the people.

The cunt of the journey of the two noble gentlemen
Nicola Laieta and young people of the Street Masters they are inspired by the first text attributed to Shakespeare The two noble gentlemen of Verona and to the grotesque figures of the universe of Cunto de li cunti di Basile for talk about who travels out of desire or because he is forced to leave his home in search of himself or to save his life. Appearances are deceiving
Federico Tiezzi directs the text of Thomas Bernhard of 1983, played by Sandro Lombardi and Massimo Verdastro. The work tells of two brothers, the old Karl, a former juggler, and Robert, an old retired actor, who visit each Tuesday and Thursday, each in their respective apartments. Both are linked to Mathilde, wife of Karl, but who left his weekend home as a legacy to Robert. From this starting point a mechanism is triggered in which, between unspoken secrets and feelings that never explode, the two brothers try to devise every pretext to satisfy their "needs of torment", according to the Beckettian definition.

One of the most famous works of William Shakespeare directed by Laura Angiulli and set in the rich and animated universe of Venice, a Renaissance city with a capitalist system, a world of commerce, trade, trade and money. On the prestigious stage of the Teatro San Carlo the famous and extraordinary work of Giacomo Puccini, with a libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica and taken from the novel by Henri Murger Scènes de la vie de bohème, released in installments starting from 1844 in the magazine Corsaire, when the author had only 22 years. The story tells the carefree existence of a group of young bohemian artists in four paintings or episodes, in the Paris of 1830.
