Nero, The Crusades and the legend of the Djinn in the Catacombs of San Gennaro for the Comicon Extra

Catacombs

The events organized on the occasion of the Comicon Extra 2021, the project that was conceived during the pandemic, they close with an interesting appointment at Catacombs of San Gennaro in Naples, in which an exhibition entitled Black. The Crusades and the legend of the Djinn.

The exhibition is dedicated to the last one medieval fantasy series of the comic publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore and can be visited from 18 December 2021 at the 31 January 2022 at the hypogeum of the Basilica of the Incoronata Madre del Buon Consiglio in Naples.

The history of the exhibition

At the center of the exhibition Black, The Crusades and the legend of the Djinn there is the meeting and clash between the world ofWest and that ofOrient, culminated precisely in the historical period of the Crusades.

Two will be the protagonists of this special exhibition, in particular two warriors, coming from both worlds, who find themselves fighting together for the good of humanity. There is in fact a powerful monster that threatens the whole human species.

Sacred war, therefore, is seen not only as a conflict, but on the contrary also as an instrument of contacts and sharing between two apparently different worlds.

The authors of the comic

There are two artists who contributed to the creation of Nero, they are:

  • Emiliano Mammuccari, a designer and illustrator who began his artistic career in 1998 collaborating with various publishing houses, including Sergio Bonelli Editore, for which he creates Napoleon, Jan Dix and Caravan. • Matthew Mammuccari, graduated in Literature and Philosophy, began his work as a screenwriter in 2007. In 2017 he began his collaboration with Sergio Bonelli Editore with a miniseries Orphans: Earth, which will then follow About the future.
