On Friday 22 February 2019 the time of the traffic block in Naples was extended as the pollution levels were exceeded.
The City of Napoli reports that for today Friday 22 February 2019 the time of the car traffic ban is extended for environmental reasons up to 19.30. In fact, the stop to cars which is generally scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the time slots from 9.00 to 12.30 and from 14.30 to 16.30, only for today 22 February includes the following slots: from 9: 00 to 12: 30 and the 14: 30 to 19: 30.
According to the various bulletins of the Campania ARPA of the Regional Air Quality Monitoring Network, on the days of 18 and 19 February there was a exceeding the fixed limit of 50 μg / m3 for PM10 in two control units, for which the level of pollution reached has made it necessary to take this provision.
As always, the ban is valid throughout the city and, just for today, it's longer than 3 hours. The usual exemptions are provided for.
Areas not subject to the prohibition
There is no traffic ban on the following roads:
- city motorways network in the sections falling within the territory of the Municipality of Naples;
- A1 Naples-Rome connection;
- A3 Naples-Salerno connection;
- regional road former SS 162;
- avenue Fulco di Calabria.
