Review of a historic restaurant in Vomero: Donna Teresa's tavern.

This week we will continue to follow the main thread inaugurated last week with the tavern of the tile and we will let you discover the tavern of Donna Teresa, local historian of the Vomero which, just this year, celebrates 100 years of opening.

The local

The restaurant, hidden between two shops, is a cornerstone of Neapolitan cuisine. With its 100 years of activity has seen the Vomero change but, the usual patrons assure me, the quality is always high. The actual place is really small, with few tables but it makes the atmosphere feel even more ! especially when the kitchen, completely exposed, you feel the inviting smells of dishes (who of us does not remember the Sunday ragù in mind?).

Obviously the management is completely familiar but it is a perfectly oiled machine. Even with a full house they will not forget you and the order will be wave like in a day without many customers.

The menu

The menu varies day by day and week by week depending on what is found at the market. There is usually a choice between 2 or 4 first courses that can range from simple pasta to sauce to lasagna, while there is a more varied choice for main courses, both of vegetarian meatthe. The contours are those typical of the tradition from salad mixed with zucchini to scapece. Special mention for sweets whose only smell is one wonder.

The order

The choice was between two first courses: Genoese pasta and lentils with escarole. We tried them both, and they were delicious.

Di according to we took: provolone cutlet with a mushroom-shaped eggplant and tracchie with scapece zucchini garnish.

Being very greedy we could not miss the dessert: the pie "Strange" stuffed with chestnut compote and pastiera. We can assure you that the table behind ours has asked for it tris.

Cost of the evening? 12 euro each including covered and drinks.

Conclusions

Donna Teresa's tavern made us eat not only in a good way excellent but also relaxed. The ingredients fresh and also carefully selected (from the bread taken specifically from Casavatore to the oil) make this kitchen truly delicious. the friendliness of the owners in offering you the dishes or in serving you is admirable and all this for a really good price excellent!
