Cammino della Restanza, excursion in the Dauno Sub-Apennines

A whole day to be lived at a slow pace, in the heart of theIrpinia and the Daunia Sub-Apennines, to rediscover authentic territories, centuries-old traditions e local flavours. Come back there Spring Edition of the Restanza Trail, scheduled Sunday May 11 2025, an experiential event that unites Hiking, local identity e enhancement of the territory. A unique opportunity to travel together along an itinerary rich in scenic and historical beauties, with welcome in the villages, guided tours, tastings and cultural moments.

Timetables and main stages

Initial meeting at 8.00 am at the distributor Star Oil in district of Santa Lucia, Vallata (AV), near the toll booth A16 Vallata motorway.
8.15, departure with shuttles to Trevico, where arrival is expected at the Ettore Scola's birthplace, REMAINING KIT collection a visit to the historic center and tasting of the famous Trevico Ham.

All 9.00 hours, the official start of the I walk with greeting from the authorities e blessing.

Stop in Vallesaccarda and crossing towards Zungoli

At about 9.45, first stop at Vallesaccarda with reception at the headquarters of the Pro Loco, where a breakfast based on typical products.

10.15, departure for Zungoli, crossing the Mount Molara and passing through the Walnut Tavern, a stretch immersed in nature that leads to the charming village.

Among 12.45 and 13.30, I arrive at Zungoli, with guided tour in groups al Norman castle e lunch break.

Arrival in Monteleone and conclusion of the event

All 15.00, new departure towards Monteleone of Puglia, passing by the Royal Tratturo and skirting the Selvamala Forest.

At about 17.00 hours, I arrive at San Rocco a Monteleone of Puglia, where a will be offered welcome buffetParticipants will then be able to choose whether to take part in the religious and cultural events dedicated to Feast of San Rocco in May.

At the end, the Shuttles will take participants back to the initial meeting point.

  • Il Royal Tratturo
  • Il Selvamala Forest
• 17.00 → Arrival at Monteleone of Puglia, with:
  • Stop at San Rocco
  • Welcome buffet
  • Optional participation in the religious and musical events is preferably used for feast of San Rocco in May

Info and costs

La participation fee is €25, reduced to €15 for children under 15 years old.
Ability to overnight stay or dinner on Saturday e / o la Sunday evening at affiliated structures.
