Cammino della Restanza, excursion in the Dauno Sub-Apennines

A full day to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, in the heart of Irpinia and the Daunia Sub-Apennines , to rediscover authentic territories , centuries-old traditions , and local flavors . The Spring Edition of the Cammino della Restanza returns , scheduled for Sunday, May 11, 2025 , an experiential event that combines hiking , local identity , and territorial valorization . A unique opportunity to explore together a route rich in scenic and historical beauty, with hospitality in the villages , guided tours , tastings , and cultural events.

Timetables and main stages

Initial meeting at 8.00 am at the distributor Star Oil in district of Santa Lucia, Vallata (AV), near the toll booth A16 Vallata motorway.
8.15, departure with shuttles to Trevico, where arrival is expected at the Ettore Scola's birthplace, REMAINING KIT collection, visit to the historic center has always been tasting of the famous Trevico Ham.

At 9.00 am , the official start of the Camino with greetings from the authorities and blessing.

Stop in Vallesaccarda and crossing towards Zungoli

Around 9.45 , first stop in Vallesaccarda with a welcome at the Pro Loco headquarters , where a breakfast based on typical products will be served.

10.15 am , departure for Zungoli , crossing Monte Molara and passing by the Taverna delle Noci , a stretch immersed in nature that leads to the charming village.

Between 12.45pm and 13.30pm , arrival in Zungoli , with a guided group visit to the Norman castle and a stop for lunch.

Arrival in Monteleone and conclusion of the event

At 15.00 pm , new departure towards Monteleone di Puglia , passing next to the Regio Tratturo and skirting the Bosco Selvamala.

Around 5:00 PM , arrival at San Rocco in Monteleone di Puglia , where a welcome buffet will be offered . Participants will then be able to choose whether to take part in the religious and cultural events dedicated to the feast of San Rocco in May.

At the end, the Shuttles will take participants back to the initial meeting point.

• 12.45 / 13.30 → Arrival at Zungoli, with:
  • Guided tour of the castle for groups
  • Lunch break
• 15.00 → I'm walking towards Monteleone of Puglia, long:
  • Il Royal Tratturo
  • Il Selvamala Forest
• 17.00 → Arrival at Monteleone of Puglia, with:
  • Stop at San Rocco
  • Welcome buffet
  • Optional participation in the religious and musical events for feast of San Rocco in May

La participation fee is €25, reduced to €15 for children under 15 years old.
overnight stay or dinner on Saturday e / o la Sunday evening at affiliated structures.
