The Campania Libri Festival returns to Naples , its fifth edition, from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th October 2026. The “home” of the event is once again the Palazzo Reale , in Piazza del Plebiscito 1 , together with the Vittorio Emanuele III National Library and the Romantic Garden.

This year's slogan is Jesce sole , an ancient Neapolitan propitiatory chant: a tribute to the city's language and culture, which acts as a common thread throughout the entire program.

Dates and times

The festival opens on Thursday 1 October and closes on Sunday 4 October 2026. There are over 250 events spread over the four days and more than 120 stands in the monumental courtyards of the Royal Palace.

The Roberto De Simone Arena , curated by the Rai Production Centre in Naples, opens the programme from 11:15 on the opening day.

The program of the first day

Over 80 events are scheduled for October 1st alone : meetings with authors, presentations, music, and readings. It begins with Agnese Palumbo and Partenope in the space dedicated to Roberto De Simone , to whom the fifth edition pays homage.

The 2026 edition in fact dedicates a common thread to the 50th anniversary of La gatta Cenerentola and to the genius of De Simone himself , a key figure in Neapolitan culture through theatre, music and research into popular traditions.

Where it takes place and how to get there

The heart of the festival is the Royal Palace , at Piazza del Plebiscito 1 , with publishers' stands spread across the Cortile d'Onore , the Cortile del Belvedere , and the Cortile delle Carrozze . The route extends to the nearby National Library and the Romantic Garden.

The area is served by the Municipio and Chiaia stops on Metro Line 1 and by numerous bus lines. If arriving by car, it's best to leave your vehicle in the city center parking lots and get around on foot : the Plebiscito area is pedestrianized and very busy during festival days.

Prices and useful information

Admission to the festival is free . Some events may require reservations due to limited seating: it's a good idea to check the program on the official website campanialibrifestival.it before you go.

Four packed days mean many rooms and many simultaneous meetings: the advice is to choose two or three appointments per day in advance and leave time to browse the stands.
