Campania Wine Sustainability at the Royal Palace of Naples: tastings and events for wine lovers

Back to Naples "Campania. Wine #Sustainability”An event dedicated to lovers of good wine, an event that continues with a second edition after the successful one last autumn.

The event will take place at Royal Palace of Naples on 22 and 23 May 2022 and the palace of Piazza del Plebiscito will be the protagonist of a series of appointments that include tastings, insights, promotions and enhancement of wine with:

• wine forums;
• mastercalss;
• seminars;
• tastings;
• food and wine workshops with the Piennolo del Vesuvio Dop tomato.

A review entirely dedicated to enhancement of Doc and Igt wine which will see the participation of five wine communities of Campania which are:

• Sannio Consortium for the Protection of Wines;
• Consortium for the Protection of Vesuvius Wines;
• Consortium for the Protection of Irpinia Wines;
• Vitica - Caserta Wines Consortium;
• Consortium for the protection of Vita Salernum Vites wines;

and not only because companies, experts, sector journalists and professionals will also participate.

"Campania. Wine #Sustainability "is promoted by the five protection consortia together with the consortium for the protection of Piennolo del Vesuvio DOP tomatoes and there will be more than 150 Campania producers with more than 600 DOC and Igt labels, Including:

Events at the Royal Palace

22st May

On the first day, from 10.00 to 19.00, there will be a "walk around wine tasting”In the portico of the Royal Palace where they will be exhibition stands with the Campania producers and the five consortia we have already mentioned.

23st May

Also on this day there will be the "walk around wine tasting"From 10.00 to 19.00 and there will be many stands to do tastings.

Furthermore, there will be a forum on the topic "Geographical indications as a sustainable heritage of Campania and the role of protection consortia”At 10.00 in the Court Theater of the Royal Palace. It will be moderated by the journalist, Giorgio Dell'Orefice, of Il Sole 24, with the interventions of Nicola Caputo, Councilor for Agriculture of the Campania Region, Ciro Fiola, president of Unioncamere Campania, the presidents of the protection consortia, Raffaele Amore, president of Cia Campania, Gennarino Masiello , national vice president of Coldiretti, Salvatore Schiavone, director of ICQRF Southern Italy. Among the other participants also Matteo Lorito, rector of the University of Naples Federico II.

Instead, at 17.00, always in the Theater, there will be "Campania that loves Campania 2022”During which the awards will be awarded by the protection consortia for the best regional wine lists. The aim is to enhance the activities underlying the wine culture and also to protect local identities.

Masterclass at the Maschio Angioino

There will be more events on 23st May also in the Sala delle Armi of the Maschio Angioino with four masterclass dedicated to four types of wines from Campania. It can only be accessed on booking by writing to masterclass@campania.wine. Here are the events dedicated to wines with geographical indication:

• sparkling wines at 11.00;
• white wines 12.30;
• rosé wines 15.00 pm;
• red wines 16.30 pm.
