The celebrations for the Chinese New Year are arriving in Piazza Plebiscito and in Piazza del Gesù in Naples: workshops, workshops, art and culture from China are scheduled!

Il January 24th and 25th 2020, respectively in Piazza Plebiscito and in Piazza del Gesù in Naples there will be celebrations for the Chinese New Year.

The event, organized by the Confucius Institute of the University of Naples "L'Orientale", invites everyone to take part in the celebrations on the first day of the Year of the Rat, which according to Chinese tradition will bring innovation and economic prosperity to the world.

Chinese New Year in Naples: the program

January 24 - Piazza del Gesù

There will be the Chinese art and culture event, organized by the Hello China Association, with a countdown to midnight simultaneously with China from 16.50. Next, there will be artistic performances. Furthermore, from 17.00 on entrance ticket to the Archaeological Museum of Naples will be free.

January 25 - Piazza del Plebiscito

There will be the initiative promoted by the Confucius Institute of Naples, broadcast live on radio CRC. In both days there will be live streaming on Youtube visible all over the world.

From 11:00, Piazza Plebiscito will fill up with colors, songs, traditional Chinese dances in the name of art and fun.

The celebrations and martial arts

Also on January 25th, the celebrations will open, after the greeting of the Rector of the University of Naples "L'Orientale" Prof. Elda Morlicchio, of the Director of the Confucius Institute of Naples Prof.ssa Paola Paderni and of the Co- director Prof. Feng Hui, with traditional dragon dance.

Then follow several performances of martial arts, as Taiji and wushu and the Kongzhu dance. From 12:30 you can instead participate in workshops and activities of Chinese art and culture for all ages, such as calligraphy workshops, Chinese paintings, cut paper, traditional Chinese knots and kite flying.
