Caserta, the City of Women, hosts an international festival from March 6 to 8, 2026.
From 6 to 8 March 2026 Caserta hosts “Caserta – The City of Women”, an international festival designed to promote female talent, creativity, and ideas. For three days, the city becomes a large space for cultural exchange with meetings, shows, workshops and moments of dialogue distributed in various symbolic places of the territory.
The initiative was born with the aim of highlighting the contribution of women to culture, innovation, and society, transforming squares, historic buildings, and cultural spaces into meeting places open to the public.
A festival spread throughout the city
The program is organized as a widespread festival, with events hosted in some of the most representative locations in Caserta. These include the Palace of Caserta State Archives, Belvedere di San Leucio, National Circle of Piazza Margherita and various squares in the historic center.
The idea is to involve not only professionals but also citizens, students and visitors, creating a calendar full of activities that unites culture, debate, art, publishing, and digital innovation.
The four souls of the festival
The project is structured into different sections, each with a specific focus.
FEM – Women's Publishing Festival
A space dedicated to books and writing, featuring meetings with authors, journalists, and leading figures in the publishing world. Events take place primarily at the Royal Palace of Caserta and the State Archives.
Creator Hub – Digital Voices of Women
Workshops and discussion sessions dedicated to digital creativity and new forms of online storytelling.
HERitage San Leucio – Visions, Rights, and a Female Future
A more reflective section of the festival, hosted at the Belvedere di San Leucio, with round tables and meetings dedicated to social issues, rights, and the role of women in the present and future.
The Women's Village
An open space in the historic center that hosts music, informal gatherings, cultural activities, and socializing opportunities.
Friday, March 6: inauguration and first meetings
The demonstration gets underway Friday March 6 with the inaugural ceremony at the Royal Palace of Caserta, in the spaces of the State Archives.
Throughout the day, numerous events dedicated to literature and cultural reflection take place. Among the keynote speakers are: Amélie Nothomb, Clare Francini, Anna Zarlenga, Teresa Cinque, Gaja Cenciarelli and other authors and scholars who dialogue with journalists and cultural operators.
The book presentations and discussions address various topics: from autobiographies to contemporary novels, to essays dedicated to rights and social issues.
Saturday, March 7: Debates and Awards
The second day focuses mainly on the program meetings HERitage at the Belvedere of San Leucio.
Among the topics discussed were the gender gap, the role of women in contemporary society and the challenges related to female leadership.
During the day the Matilde Serao Award, an award dedicated to journalism and culture.
In parallel, the FEM section's literary meetings continue at the Royal Palace of Caserta, featuring authors, journalists, and scholars presenting their books and publishing projects.
Sunday, March 8: Culture and Equality
The last day of the festival coincides with the International Women's Day and offers meetings dedicated to art, diplomacy, and gender equality.
Among the most anticipated events are the debates on female art, education for equality and the role of women in culture and institutions.
Book presentations and meetings with Italian and international authors will continue throughout the day, culminating in the evening's closing events.
Side events featuring art, wine, and creativity
In addition to the main programme, there are also events spread throughout the city.
Between these:
• Cosmoart, a festival dedicated to contemporary art with events including art, music, food and wine
• Vineyard Visionaries, meetings dedicated to women in wine and the relationship between territory, culture and agricultural production
These initiatives further expand the festival, involving restaurants, cultural spaces, and locations in the historic center.
A festival dedicated to female talent
“Caserta – The City of Women” was born as an opportunity for enhance the contribution of women in culture, innovation and society.
Through meetings, books, debates, and performances, the festival aims to offer an open space for sharing ideas, experiences, and diverse perspectives.
For three days, Caserta becomes a place of dialogue and participation, showcasing the stories, skills, and visions that help tell the story of the present and imagine the future.
