From 5 to 8 August 2026 the seaside village of cetara, jewel of the Amalfi Coast, is transformed into an open-air stage with Cetara Experience 2026, the Festival of the Sea and Traditions dedicated this year to the theme "The sea that unites us." Four days of culture, food and wine, music and entertainment culminating in the most anticipated event of the summer: the evocative Night of the Lampare of August 8th.
Cetara has always been one of the most authentic seaside villages in Italy, famous throughout the world for its DOP anchovy sauce and for a fishing tradition passed down from generation to generation. Cetara Experience 2026 was created precisely to showcase this heritage: the event combines historical reenactments, children's workshops, tastings of local delicacies, video mapping, and live concerts, with the aim of allowing residents and tourists to experience the town's true spirit.

Wednesday, August 5: Children's Sea and the Flavor Challenge
The opening day opens at 18.00 pm in Piazzetta Grotta with “A Shell of Wonders”, an interactive tour and a collective workshop for children curated by the Cicciapelliccia bookshop, dedicated to the discovery of the sea and its biodiversity. 20.30pm in Piazza San Francesco the scene goes on Flavor Challenge, the cooking competition organised by the Pro Loco of Cetara which culminates with the traditional tapping of the Colatura di Alici di Cetara DOP A round table dedicated to red tuna, anchovies and fishing traditions follows, and the evening will close with musical entertainment by Domenico Giordano.
Thursday, August 6: Traditions of Land and Sea
The second evening is a journey into the memory of the village. At 20.30 part of Piazza Europa the historical parade recalling ancient traditions, with figures in period costumes of peasants and fishermen who walk through the streets of the centre until Largo Marina. at 21.30 the theatrical show “The sea does not forget” is staged with Lara Gallo e George Adam, followed by a video mapping on the facades of the village and musical entertainment by Terramater.
Friday, August 7: All About Tuna
A day entirely dedicated to tuna, the star of Cetara's maritime tradition. 18.00 free guided tours aboard the historic Tonnara Genevieve (reservation required at +39 327 786 8381). At 20.00pm at Molo Madonnina tuna-based tasting menu prepared by Pane Coccos', at 21.00 videomapping in Largo Marina and at 22.00 the live concert of The Sons of Vesuvius.
Saturday, August 8: The Magic of the Night of the Lampare
The grand finale is the Night of the Lampare, the ancient technique of fishing anchovies with lights that has illuminated the sea of Cetara for centuries. From 20.00pm at Molo Madonnina you can witness the fishing expedition and enjoy the anchovy-based tasting menu. Travelmar organizes two boat services to follow fishing from the sea: departure from Salerno Piazza della Concordia at 8:15 pm with return at 01.00, or from Cetara Molo Madonnina at 8:45 pm with a duration of approximately 1 hour and a half. At 21.00 videomapping in Largo Marina and at 22.30 the final concert of Gabriel Esposito.

The tasting menus for the evenings of August 7th and 8th cost 15 € per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the portal PostoRiservato.it and at authorized sales points; for the tour and tasting, you must purchase both tickets and arrive at least 10 minutes before the indicated time.
