Nighttime closures on the Naples ring road: the schedule for the week of August 24-30

The Naples Ring Road (A56) has published the schedule of nighttime closures for the current week, from Monday 24th to Sunday 30th August 2026. The works, scheduled for tunnel upgrades and improvements, overpass maintenance, and infrastructure inspections, will involve traffic closures during the night, with mandatory exits and alternative routes indicated.

Even in the event of road closures, a lane is always left available for emergency and rescue vehicles.

Night between Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th August (23:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

Traffic closure on the Doganella/Camaldoli section westbound/Pozzuoli, due to work on the Capodimonte and Vomero Ovest tunnels and the Ruffo and Maddalena overpasses, with:

• mandatory exit Doganella for vehicles coming from the motorways, with recommended return to the entrance junction Camaldoli (alternative route: viale Umberto Maddalena, via Nuova del Campo, via Don G. Bosco, piazza Carlo III, via Foria, piazza Cavour, piazza Museo, via S. Rosa, via MR Imbriani, via S. D'Acquisto, via G. Gigante, via M. De Vito Piscicelli, via S. Altamura, via S. Martini, via G. Jannelli);
• closure of entrance junctions Doganella/Maddalena Avenue, Malta Course e Capodimonte Westbound/Pozzuoli, with alternative entrance recommended Camaldoli;
• closure of the entrance junction Arenella in both directions, with alternative entrance recommended Camaldoli;
• closure of AGIP service areas West Customs House and IT West Shield.

Traffic closure on the Arco Felice/Agnano section eastbound/motorway due to work on the Solfatara East tunnel, with:

• mandatory exit Arco Felice/Pozzuoli for vehicles coming from Variante 7/IV Domitiana, with recommended return to the entrance junction Agnano (alternative route: via Montenuovo Licola Patria, via Domitiana, via Adriano Olivetti, Solfatara Variante, via San Gennaro Agnano, via Antonio Beccadelli, via Agnano agli Astroni);
• closure of entrance junctions Happy Arch e Via Campana eastbound/motorways, with alternative entrance recommended Agnano;
• closure of the ESSO service area Ancient East Bell.

Closure to traffic on the Doganella/Capodichino airport stretch in an eastbound/Autostrade direction, for maintenance of the Ruffo and Maddalena overpasses, with:

• mandatory exit Doganella for vehicles coming from the west/Pozzuoli, with recommended return to the entrance junction Capodichino/airport (alternative route: Viale Umberto Maddalena, Via Oreste Salomone);
• closure of the entrance junction Doganella Eastbound/Highways, with alternative entrance recommended Capodichino/airport.

Closure of the Capodimonte exit junction heading east/Autostrade, for inspections of the works, with the recommended alternative exit Arenella.

Night between Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th August (23:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

The same closures as the previous night are repeated: Doganella/Camaldoli section westbound, Arco Felice/Agnano section eastbound, Doganella/Capodichino airport section eastbound and Capodimonte exit junction eastbound, with the same alternative routes (Camaldoli, Agnano, Capodichino/airport, Arenella).

Night between Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th August (23:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

In addition to the closures of the previous nights, two further bans are planned for inspections of works of art:

• closure of the exit junction Lokanta Cuma Westbound/Pozzuoli, with recommended alternative exit Happy Arch;
• closure of the entrance junction Vomero Via Cilea in both directions, with alternative entrance recommended Vomero Via Pigna.

Night between Thursday 27th and Friday 28th August (23:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

The main closures already described are in effect: Doganella/Camaldoli section westbound, Arco Felice/Agnano section eastbound, Doganella/Capodichino airport section eastbound and Capodimonte exit junction eastbound, with the same alternative routes.

Night between Friday 28th and Saturday 29th August (24:00am - 6:00am)

Last night of roadworks: the Doganella/Camaldoli, Arco Felice/Agnano, and Doganella/Capodichino Airport sections, along with the Capodimonte exit, will be closed from midnight on Friday, August 28th until 6:00 am on Saturday, August 29th, with the same alternative routes.

Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August

There are no scheduled night closures on the Naples ring road this weekend.
