They have been allocated well 1,5 million euro for the highly anticipated Christmas lights in Naples, these funds will be divided equally, so we are talking about 150 thousand euros for each of the 10 municipalities of the city.

The controversy over the Christmas lights
However, everything was decided very quickly and the various entrants were informed only last November 4th, having the opportunity to send their application by November 8, 2022. It is precisely on this subject that the councilor of the V Municipality (Arenella - Vomero), Salvatore Pace, published a post on social media expressing ihis disappointment:
There is no time to propose a project, there is not even time to make a call for companies to entrust the work to. Therefore, everything must be done by direct call.
Another question to raise is that concerning the energy crisis, according to the councilor in a delicate period like the one we are experiencing, these funds that the Municipality of Naples has allocated for lights could be used in a different way.
Totally the opposite is instead the opinion of Gennaro New Year, president of the Hill Values Committee, according to which the presence of lights would help make the city more cheerful and liveable, attracting tourists and thus also helping commercial activities.
