Cilento Fest 2026 in Perito: fifth edition featuring cinema, villages, and tributes to Scola and Battiato

From 18 to 21 August 2026, the village of Perito hosts the fifth edition of the Cilento Fest, an international film festival dedicated to promoting and raising awareness of cinema related to the stories of rural and inland areas. Directed by Max De Francesco, the event offers four days of screenings, performances, meetings, and creative workshops, all free of charge.
Over one hundred and twenty films entered will compete for the main “Cinema e Borghi” prize, worth two thousand euros, awarded to the winning audiovisual work of the competition.
A program full of guests and tributes
The festival opens on August 18th with the national preview of the documentary “Isola”, a work that celebrates the places and myths of the Salerno poet Alfonso Gatto fifty years after his death. Following, an intense tribute to Ettore Scola enriched by the testimony of his daughter Silvia.
Guests of this edition include Nando Paone, Elena Radonicich, Giovanni Esposito and the famous composer Franco Micalizzi, who will receive the lifetime achievement award.
The days of August 19th and 20th will alternate moments of civic engagement, such as the cinematic focus on the Giulio Regeni case, with moments of nostalgia, including Andrea Balestri's recollections of the secrets of the television set of Luigi Comencini's Pinocchio.
