Circumvesuviana, on the trains works of street art on the history and culture of Vesuvius

Circumvesuviana and street art by Massimo Troisi

The Circumvesuviana trains are dressed in art with street art works that depict characters and symbols of our millenary history.

One of the four was put into circulation a few days ago Circumvesuvian trains of the EAV company that he dressed in art, having outside a series of historical and mythological characters referred to our culture. Made by street artist Mattia Campo dell'Orto, these works are found on a Metrostar model train and not only tell about centuries of art, but make the whole train more fascinating, waiting for others to be made.

On the whole train line we can admire theErcole Farnese, Pliny the Elder which witnessed the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, Charles III of Bourbon and the Villas Vesuvione, Lucrezia d'Alagno and again the writer Wolfgang Von Goethe and his passion for Vesuvius, Giacomo Leopardi who deeply loved our land and was inspired by our volcano. Furthermore, Luigi Palemieri of the Vesuvian Observatory, the great one, were drawn Massimo Troisi, Luigi Denza, the composer of Funiculì Funiculà and many symbols of our territory such as vines, sea, lava, fruits, villas, ships, flowers, birds and trees.

The project is edited by Inward - Observatory on Urban Creativity for Eav and it is an idea that we hope will multiply on other convoys because the aim is to tell the millenary Vesuvian history. A winning idea considering that every day there are thousands of commuters who can admire this work of street art.
