Copper theft causes transit blockage on the Naples – San Giorgio a Cremano line of the Circumvesuviana
Large copper theft occurred at the station Madonnelle of Circumvesuviana along the line Naples - San Giorgio a Cremano. The theft affected a very large area, well four km line, damaging many station services including the plumbing system. The damage caused the flooding of the premises and the transit site.
Therefore closed the station ed the circulation is interrupted of trains on the whole route. Numerous inconveniences to users, in particular to those who were willing to go to the station of the Centro Direzionale di Napoli, home to numerous offices including the Palace of Justice and some premises in the Region.
The thieves broke into the station via the platform. The theft took place during the night but the cameras may have filmed some scenes of the event.
No information has come about a date for restoring the races.
