COMIC(ON)OFF 2025, the off-festival program in Naples

From March 15 to May 30, 2025, the city of Naples transforms into the beating heart of pop culture and comics with the return of COMIC (ON) OFF, the official off-festival of COMICON. A widespread event which, thanks to the collaboration with the City of Naples, involves all municipalities with exhibitions, meetings, workshops and performances, making comics the protagonist in every corner of the city.

A rich and inclusive program

The 2025 edition of COMIC(ON)OFF takes pop culture outside the boundaries of the Mostra d'Oltremare and spreads it among libraries, galleries, auditoriums and urban spaces, involving international artists and emerging talents. Among the guests, there are important names such as Mikael Ross (Germany), Elisa Marraudino (France) and Laura Pérez Granel (Spain), together with a selection of Italian authors.

The program includes:

  • Exhibitions and artistic installations in symbolic locations such as the Church of Santa Croce and Purgatory at the Market, Monte Echia Viewpoint , HDE Gallery.
  • Labs and workshops open to all ages in the municipal libraries.
  • Thematic events dedicated to cosplay, K-Pop and international pop culture.

Libraries and Comics: An Ever-Strengthening Bond

An important novelty this year is the project “Comics in the Library”which provides 800 volumes donated to the libraries of Naples to bring the public closer to the world of graphic novels. The structures involved include:

  • Grazia Deledda Library (Ponticelli)
  • Giancarlo Mazzacurati Library (Bagnoli)
  • Guido Dorso Library (Secondigliano)
  • Giustino Fortunato Library (Soccavo)

Events not to be missed

Among the many initiatives of COMIC(ON)OFF 2025, some unmissable events stand out:

  • “Pasquale Mattej and the Reinvention of the Braggart”: exposure to Real Casa Santa dell'Annunziata dedicated to the first Italian comic book.
  • “Mikael Ross. Clandestine Trafficking”: show to the Church of Santa Croce and Purgatory at the Market by the award-winning German cartoonist.
  • Cosplay Gathering “Crew! One Piece” al Monte Echia Viewpoint.
  • Random Dance K-Pop of Municipio metro station.
  • “Dante Pop!”: illustrated exhibition atScampia auditorium dedicated to the Divine Comedy.
  • “Plankton Atlas”, scientific presentation at the Anton Dohrn Zoological Station.
