Pozzuoli: A 15-square-meter illegal landfill site seized

An agricultural land of approximately 15 square meters transformed into a waste accumulation area has been placed under preventive seizure in Pozzuoli.

According to ANSA Campania , the operation was conducted by the Ecology Unit of the Municipal Police , led by commander Fabio Felice De Silva , in via Vicinale Campana.

The operation was carried out with the support of an Army patrol involved in Operation Terra dei Fuochi and led to the discovery of plastic, glass, black bags, construction materials, tires, and a reel of cable.

Excavations in the area also suggest a possible burial of waste . On the same day, another agricultural area on Via Pietrarse was seized , NapoliToday reports.

Poggiomarino, another fire near Longola: the prefect returns to the scene.

A new fire has broken out on private land near the Longola Archaeological Park in Poggiomarino . This is the third such incident in just a few months, following the fires in June.

The flames were contained by the Fire Brigade with the support of the Local Police . No archaeological finds or structures were affected, according to Sarno Notizie.

Following the incident, Naples Prefect Michele Di Bari announced his return to Poggiomarino for a meeting with Special Commissioner Gabriella D'Orso to discuss surveillance measures in the area.

The causes of the fire and any possible connection to previous ones remain unclear. The site, discovered in 2000 , preserves evidence from the Bronze Age to the 6th century BC, reports Il Mattino.

Local degradation

The Valori Colliri committee denounces the growing degradation of the Vomero hills , with piles of rubbish and bulky items left on the streets for days.

According to Ottopagine , recycling bins are often surrounded by bags left on the ground. Wheeled bins remain on the street for days, creating unpleasant odors and obstructing pedestrian traffic.

The committee also reports cardboard packaging left at all hours and mattresses abandoned without being removed, a situation already reported in previous communications that, according to residents, went unheeded. On the topic of urban safety, Napolike also discussed the case of the Metropark at the Central Station.

The day confirms a territory gripped by controls and critical issues: two arrests and a complaint on the security front, a construction site stalled, and a landfill seized on the environmental front. The waste issue in the Vomero hills and surveillance of the Longola site , the focus of a new prefectural meeting, remain unresolved. The situation of yesterday and October 1st remains in Napolike's summaries.
