David Gilmour, former Pink Floyd guitarist, will be in concert at 'Anfiteatro Romano di Ruins of Pompeii. To give the news, the Minister Franeschini with a tweet that leaves little room for doubts: Gilmour will perform the 7 and 8 July 2016 for two unforgettable evenings.
More precisely, the tweet specifies that an agreement has been reached for which the guitarist will play in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. And the live will come well 45 years after the concert that the Pink Floyd held right among the ruins of Pompeii, recording the performance that later went down in history.
There is still nothing definitive nor are the details on ticket sales known, but the official message from Minister Franceschini bodes well. Probably, the two evenings will also be resumed by HD cameras.
David Gilmour's concert would open one new rock season in the Roman Amphitheater, which a few days later will host another icon of rock music: Elton John will always perform in the Teatro Grande.
How to buy tickets
Tickets pre-sales will be opened on March 22 2016 13.00 pm and you can buy on the David Gilmour site and on Ticketone. You will be able to buy only two tickets per person and only for one evening (not both). Upon purchase, the received with the name and, on the day of the concert, it must be presented (printed) at the ticket office together with a valid identification document and the credit card used for the purchase. If two tickets have been purchased, the second person must also be present at the ticket office. The box office will be open both days of the concerts from 10.00 to 20.00.
Each spectator will then receive a ticket and a bracelet, to keep with you to show them at the security checks before entering the Amphitheater. Spectators who do not have both the ticket and the bracelet will not be admitted.
