Forgotten Peace by Murìcena Teatro returns to the stage in Campania with three performances in October 2026. The show, written and directed by Raffaele Parisi , will be performed on October 11 in Aversa and on October 15 and 16 at the Teatro dei Piccoli in Naples, always at 20 pm.

Professional blind and visually impaired actors and actresses take to the stage , accompanied by guide dog Nuvola . After its debut at the Campania Teatro Festival on July 4, 2026, the production continues its journey: not just a simple tour, but a part of the Fare Teatro… oltre lo sguardo project , the permanent workshop launched in 2017 with the Paolo Colosimo Institute in Naples.

What is Forgotten Peace about?

The starting point is Aristophanes ' ancient comedy : in Peace, the winemaker Trygaeus ascends to the gods to free Eirene , the goddess of peace held prisoner by War. In Forgotten Peace, that journey becomes a search for something lost: a beggar , escorted by the faithful Cloud , crosses the world in search of a forgotten peace.

The story is told by Opora , a storyteller who spins and knits like a Fate, and narrates the adventures of the "guagliuncedda" in Neapolitan dialect . Aristophanes' satirical vein thus meets a stage based on listening and perception: sounds, voices, smells, touch, movement, and memory become theatrical language. For those watching the show, sight is not the primary means of orientation.

Murìcena Teatro and the project Making Theatre… beyond the gaze

With Dimenticata Pace, the journey takes a further step: from the laboratory to professional production and distribution. Over the years, the project has developed an ongoing theatrical training program for blind and visually impaired actors and actresses, under the artistic direction of the Scuola Elementare del Teatro, directed by Davide Iodice.

In January 2026, the Ministry of Culture selected the project among twelve funded nationally as part of initiatives dedicated to organizations that professionally employ artists with disabilities. It is therefore not just a performance, but a building block for establishing stable conditions for training and stage presence.

A new phase now begins with the Campania Region's assignment of the Paolo Colosimo Institute 's theater to the Teatro Elementary School. A center dedicated to free education is being created , with a particular focus on people with disabilities and those experiencing social vulnerability. The October performances fit precisely into this framework.
