Pork Sauté Challenge 2025 in Mirabella Eclano in Avellino

Sunday 9 March 2025In the historic center of Mirabella Eclano (Avellino) will host the XV Edition of the Pork Sauté Challenge, an event that celebrates the local gastronomic tradition and culinary heritage of Irpinia.
Who is organizing the event?
The event is promoted by Slow Food Irpinia Conduct Ufita Hills and Taurasi, with the sponsored by the Municipality of Mirabella EclanoThe aim is to enhance the local gastronomic culture, highlighting the different variants of the fried pork, a dish that tells the peasant history of each town.
What do you eat at the Soffritto Challenge?
Il fried pork is the absolute protagonist of the day, declined in different variations depending on the tradition of each municipality. Each territory adds a distinctive touch with local ingredients and aromas. During the event, visitors will be able to taste:
- Traditional pork stir fry with peppers and local herbs.
- Regional variants, enriched with spices and typical ingredients.
- Tastings of typical Irpinia products, including cheeses, cured meats and local wines.
