The monthly appointment with "Domenica al Museo" will be unmissable at the National Museum of Naples, between art, archeology and history!
Il National Archaeological Museum of Naples, on the occasion of the initiative "Sunday at the Museum" will open for free to citizens.
The famous museum complex, Sunday March 1, 2015, will be the protagonist of an unmissable guided tour, organized by the Visitare Napoli association, which will allow citizens to get to know one of the most important symbols of classical archeology in Europe and in the world.
The important cultural building is the result of an ancient project of the Bourbon, aimed at creating a prestigious arts center in Naples.
A design that managed to concentrate, in a single museum complex, the treasures more representative belonging to the precious historical, cultural and artistic heritage of the Parthenopean capital.

So it was that with the passing of the years the Archaeological Museum took shape, preserving, among its beautiful rooms, important works, finds and collections.
During the guided tour visitors will therefore be transported among the timeless beauty of the collections that belonged to Elisabetta Farnese, archaeological collections dating back to the Pompeii excavations started in 1738 and the prestigious mosaics and frescoes taken at the time from the mansions of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
It will also be interesting to discover the Epigraphic and Egyptian sections, the gallery of Greek messengers and the Secret Cabinet, the particular sector including frescoes and materials with an erotic theme, collected from the '700 onwards, remained closed to the public for several years.
