Finally, the construction site in Piazza Nicola Amore in Naples closes, where work is underway for the Duomo station of metro line 1.

After many years of hurdles and traffic problems, finally i you work in Piazza Nicola Amore, also called "the Four Palaces", in Naples they end and the building site leaves space and air to the road for too long hindered.

The works are related to Duomo station of the Subway 1 Line of Naples and were inaugurated on November 14, 2001, so almost 20 years ago and, since then, we have become accustomed to the halved aisles and shops a little cut off from the promenade.

The new square and roads

From today, however, the situation is changing and the piazza will be permanently open between November and December 2020. The TRAFFIC it is changing its face and there will be four lanes in total, two of which cross the area that is now clear of the construction site. Gradually, the ascending road will be the one that will go to the sea and not the one in the upper part of Corso Umberto, as it happens today. So, the viability will be reversed.

In addition, finally the pavements of via Duomo Bassa will also be completed. The glass roof designed by the architect Massimiliano Fuksas and everything will receive a new and modern aspect. This, presumably, will take place in early 2021.

Archaeological finds become museum

Unfortunately this site has required so many years of work also because over time important archaeological finds have been found, such as the great Temple of the Isolimpici Games. This archaeological area will become a real one Museum with the exhibits well lit by a play of hexagonal and colored lights which change according to the light of the day, creating an original with elevators and escalators sensory path.
