Finally a great news in Naples: after almost 20 years of work, in August 2021, the Duomo Metro Station Line 1 in Piazza Nicola Amore.
The structure conceived by the Italian architect and designer Massimiliano Fuksas has ended and will join the other art stations created in the city of Naples.

Everything is ready for the opening to the public of the Duomo station of the Metro Line 1, it will be one really special structure which will also host a Museum, which will contain all the archaeological finds found during the excavations for the construction of the new metro station.
These days, the Municipality of Naples is providing for the liberation of the area on the surface of Corso Umberto I and in the coming days will also be installed traffic lights just to regulate traffic at intersections.
The opening of the new facility could take place with a public ceremony the August 6 2021, the green light from the latest technical checks is currently awaited.

With the completion of the Duomo station in Naples, destined to be one of the most beautiful stations ever built in the world, the areas of the construction site in Corso Umberto I are being liberated, which will therefore reopened to circulation.
The new traffic floor It provides:
- The pedestrian crossings placed on Corso Umberto I at the intersections via Renovella-via Seggio del Popolo and Via Starace -Via San Giovanni in Corte are confirmed
- To divide the cars between number 152 and the intersection with via Renovella-Via Seggio del Popolo, a low new jersey lane will be installed in Corso Umberto I
- The temporary traffic light that regulates the traffic before the intersection of Corso Umberto I with Via Starace-Via San Giovanni in Corte has been temporarily moved to the separation curb between the carriageway and the cycle path
- In Via Duomo, in particular in the stretch that goes from Piazza Nicola Amore to Via Tramntano-Via Zecca dei Panni, the ban on transit is confirmed
Metro Line 1, limited circulation
On 6 August the new Duomo metro will be ready, but the last works to be carried out before this date will limit the reculation of line 1. Only the partial section will be active Piscinola - Dante from Monday 2nd to Thursday 5th August (included). To cover the temporarily suspended stops, the Replacement bus line 602, but there will also be early closures.
