A strike by the EAV transport companies is expected on 7 October and there is a clash between the unions and the company's top management

The holidays are long over now, and the problems of public transport welcome us again in the city. In particular, the situation of theEav, whose workers are in full conflict with the company executives. In fact, the unions immediately proclaimed one strike for the 7 October 2013.

The battles focus on the issues of food stamps and supplementary wages. Basically, employees protest because EAV has not paid for 6 months of ticket and did not increase the one-off installments of the salaries provided for in the national contract.

Following a meeting in the prefecture with the EAV Personnel Director Maurizio Papagno, a meeting that immediately proved very tense, the unions announced the failure of a possible reconciliation with the top management of the company. Reason that has pushed the CGIL to the immediate clash.

The Faisa Cisal, on the other hand, foresees an imminent collapse of the transport system “due to the increase in commuters in conjunction with the reopening of schools”.
Eav operates the Circumvesuviana, Sepsa and Metrocampania Nordest railway lines, so that a total holding company failure would mean almost complete block of transport in the city and in part of the Region.

In the meantime, what worries the most is the wait for the Government's go-ahead to obtain the 200 million of the Fas Funds that would make the Eav breathe a little. Acta Commissioner Pietro Voci met yesterday in Rome with the head of Cabinet of the Governor Caldoro, Danilo del Gaizo, for a meeting with the Ministries of Economy and Transport.

The aim is to understand the timing for the ratification and the provision of the long-awaited funds.
Funds that would be fundamental considering that, at the moment, the company does not even have the possibility to buy spare parts and is forced to use again 1960 trains, with broken brakes and doors.
